What is Delightex and why do I need it?

Delightex (previously CoSpaces Edu) is a kid-friendly creation app widely used in schools around the world and letting anyone easily create their own virtual content. Working simply as a website inside your browser but also as a mobile or tablet app, Delightex enables students to build, code, and explore their own creations in VR or AR, while learning essential digital skills.

How easy is Delightex to use?

Creating in Delightex is a simple drag and drop process using a variety of creation features including a 3D objects, building blocks, multimedia uploads, block-based coding, and much more. Delightex's visual block-based coding language CoBlocks is ideal for young coders and a great introduction to computational thinking.

What is needed to sign up?

You can sign up with your email address and through Google, Apple or Microsoft. Students just need their teacher's class code to join Delightex.

How can I get started?

You can create a free Delightex account online now and start using the platform right away! If you need help or inspiration, you can watch our tutorial videos on YouTube and connect with our community on Facebook, Twitter or on our forum.

Can I showcase Delightex in presentations?

If you're a Delightex user, we grant our permission to feature Delightex in presentations. Learn about our Ambassador Program, if you're interested in becoming a Delightex Ambassador.

Can I add the MERGE Cube add-on to my license plan later on?

Yes, you can add the MERGE Cube add-on to your license plan anytime under “License plan” in your Delightex account or by contacting us here.

Buying Pro

How can I buy Delightex Pro?

You can buy a Delightex Pro license plan directly online by credit card or you can request a PO (purchase order) based on a quote from us and make the payment by wire transfer. Click here to learn more.

How much does Delightex Pro cost?

Delightex Pro license plans start at USD/EUR 50.00 per year for the initial 1 seat and can be purchased with any number of additional seats costing USD/EUR 7.00. Learn more here.

I'm not in charge of payment. What should I do?

You can start by requesting a quote for your desired Delightex Pro license plan here. With this quote in your hand, you can then proceed to the ones in charge of financial matters at your school or institution.

How does the purchase order work?

Request a quote from us for your desired Delightex Pro license plan here. With this quote in your hand, you can make the necessary steps to get the PO (or any other order form that you use at your school/ company/ institution). On reception of a PO, we'll send you an invoice and you'll then have up to 30 days to make the payment.

I work in a Title 1 School. Can we get a discount?

Yes, we offer discounts to all Title 1 Schools. Please request a quote with this information here.

Switching between Basic and Pro

Can I use Delightex Basic for free now and upgrade to Pro later?

Of course! Anytime you use your Delightex account, you can choose to upgrade to Delightex Pro.

Can I get Delightex Pro now and go back to Basic later?

Sure! When your license plan ends after one year, you'll be able to either renew your Delightex Pro license plan or go back to Delightex Basic. Please note that after going back to Basic, you'll lose all features that are exclusive to Pro and which you may have been using in your Projects. This means that you'll no longer be able to edit these Projects, but you'll still be able to view and share them.

Free trials

Can I test Pro for free?

Yes! You can activate your free trial of Delightex Pro anytime to test all Pro features and the MERGE Cube add-on for 45 days with 100 seats (you and up to 99 students).

How can I get a trial code?

If you didn't receive an exclusive trial code at an event, you can get one here or contact your local Ambassador.

How do I activate my Pro trial?

In Delightex Basic, click the "Upgrade to Pro" button at the bottom-left corner, select "Activate trial" and simply enter a trial code.

Can I test the MERGE Cube add-on for free?

Yes! If you already have access to Delightex Pro, go to "License plan" and activate your one-time 14-day trial of the MERGE Cube add-on. If you're using Delightex Basic, click the "Upgrade to Pro" button at the bottom-left corner, select "Activate trial" and simply enter a trial code.

What happens when my Pro license plan expires?

When your Delightex Pro license plan expires after 1 year, you’ll be given the option to renew it for an additional year, add seats if needed, or downgrade to Delightex Basic.

How do I access my Pro license plan?

From your Delightex Basic account, click "Upgrade to Pro" and enter the key to your license plan to unlock Pro.

How can I renew my Pro license plan?

Login to your Delightex account and click "License plan" to renew your Delightex Pro license plan or contact sales at here. You can also change the number of Pro seats in your license plan.

What are seats and how do license plans work?

Delightex Pro license plans are valid for a year from the time of purchase and contain a certain number of seats depending on your Pro plan. A seat can be used by either a student or by a teacher and can be re-assigned to different users anytime. What matters is only the total number of seats being used in your account, which you can always check at the bottom-left corner of your screen.

Can several users share a seat?

Nope. Each user, student or teacher, must use one seat in a license plan as well as their own login details. However, you can easily re-assign seats to new users.

Can the same account be used on several devices?

Delightex allows a maximum of 1 computer device and a maximum of 2 mobile devices to be logged into the same account simultaneously.

How can I re-assign seats?

You can easily re-assign seats by removing and replacing students from the seats available in your Delightex license plan. Freeing up a seat will let you use it for another student who you can invite with your class invite code. These options are available from the “Users” dashboard.

Can I get more seats in my license plan?

Yes, you can add any number of seats to your license plan under “License plan” in your Delightex account or by contacting us here. Online purchases are capped at a maximum total of 400 seats on your Pro plan.

Can multiple teachers share a license plan?

Delightex Pro license plans can be shared between multiple teachers. When you buy a Pro plan, you can create an invite code and share it with other teachers to let them access your license plan.

How are prorated prices calculated?

Prices are calculated on a quarterly basis for the period of 365 days. Each time you enter a new quarter, you’re able to add seats and add-ons for 25% less of the price for your initial purpose. Have a look at the example on page 2 here.

Class management

What are the class management features of Delightex?

Delightex is designed for teachers to have full access and control over the workflow. From within the web app, teachers can create and share assignments with the class, assign individual tasks to students or create collaborative group assignments, and monitor student work remotely, even following their process in real-time.

Does Delightex include lesson plans detailing how to use VR and AR in the classroom?

Our website resources include many lesson plans created by ourselves and our Ambassadors. These can all be downloaded as documents, adapted to your liking and then implemented into your classroom at a moment's notice.

Can I create templates to share with my class?

Yes, you can create a template Delightex to use as an assignment for your class. Your students will receive the ability to use your template as a basis for their assignment and edit it.

How do I share my license plan with other teachers?

Simply give other teachers the key associated with your license plan. They'll first have to create an account with their login details (name, email, password etc) and log in to Delightex. Once logged in, other teachers can enter your key to unlock Pro, using one of the seats in your license plan.

How do I add students to my license plan?

Students can join your class and your license plan using your class code. When signing up for Delightex, students will be required to enter a class code, automatically adding them to your class and license plan, using one of the seats in your license plan.

What happens to my students' Projects when I remove them from my license plan?

Projects that were created as assignments in your class will be removed completely, while Projects created by your students individually will still be accessible for them to view.

What information do I and my students need to enter to use Delightex?

Delightex complies with COPPA, FERPA and GDPR regulations to protect student privacy. You can read more on Delightex's privacy practices in our Privacy Policy.

Can students collaborate within the same Project?

Yes! You can create a Project as an assignment and share it with a group of students. This will let the students in the group work together within the Project that was assigned to them.

How do I publish my students' Projects to the Gallery?

To publish a student’s Project to the Gallery, you'll have to copy it to your Projects first. Then, open the copy, click Share and Publish to Gallery.

Where can students create their own Projects?

Students create Projects in their respective classes, either through an Assignment or in their class Playground where they can freely create under teacher supervision.

How can I observe my students' work?

Teachers are able to observe their students’ work in real-time online from their class in the “Students” section. Teachers automatically get access to their students' assignments as well as their own Projects created in Free Play.

How do you keep student data safe?

Delightex takes student privacy very seriously and is COPPA and FERPA-compliant. We have several measures in place to make sure that the data that you and your students store in Delightex is always kept safe. Tech

What kind of hardware do I need to use Delightex?

Delightex has been made to be as accessible as possible. All you need to create and enjoy the experience is a computer with an up-to-date web browser or a mobile device with the Delightex app, and an internet connection.

Will I be able to access the Delightex domains from my school?

Some schools have firewalls that block certain domains and might prevent you from accessing Delightex. In order to resolve this, it is necessary to allow all of the domains needed to access Delightex's online platform and apps. Please contact your IT department and ask them to whitelist the following domains and ports: delightex.com:443, edu.delightex.com:443, and cdn.delightex.com:443.

Is there any tech support available on hand to help?

You can contact the Delightex team for direct support through the online forum or by email at info@delightex.com. Delightex also has a friendly community of educators, including the Delightex Ambassadors, who'll be happy to help you.

What is the difference between CoBlocks and Blockly?

CoBlocks is Delightex's own visual block-based programming language and allows coding on desktop or on a tablet. Blockly is web-only and was removed from Delightex on December 30, 2018.

What are the keyboard shortcuts in Delightex?

Can I copy and edit existing Projects?

Delightex Pro lets you remix Projects shared from others or published on the Delightex Gallery. When you remix a Project, you get your own editable copy, available under "My Projects".

Why can my shared Project no longer be viewed?

Shared Projects are limited to 1000 views. However, when a Project is published to the Gallery and is remixable, there isn't any limit to the number of views. To add more views to your shared Project, contact our Sales support here.

VR

How can I experience my creations in VR?

Your Projects and many more from the Delightex Gallery can be explored in VR using a headset and the Delightex mobile app, available on Android and iOS.

What headsets would you recommend using with Delightex?

To explore Projects in VR using the Delightex mobile app, all you need is a basic mobile VR headset, as simple as a cardboard viewer, which can be purchased at a very reasonable price and even built by your students. Delightex also works on the standalone Meta Quest, PICO and ClassVR headsets.

Does Delightex work on the Oculus Go?

Due to Facebook's decision to end support for Oculus Go app updates on Dec. 4, 2020, the Oculus Go Delightex app was closed. However, some Users have managed to explore Projects on the Oculus Go using the Oculus Go integrated web browser. Learn more on the Tech check page.

Does Delightex work on the Oculus Rift?

Delightex doesn't support the Oculus Rift. Some Users have managed to use Delightex on the Oculus Rift using WebVR. Learn more on the Tech check page.

Does Delightex work on the Samsung Gear VR?

Support for the Delightex Gear VR app ended in Dec. 2020.

Does Delightex work on the HTC Vive?

Delightex doesn't support the HTC Vive.

Does Delightex work on the Daydream?

Due to Google discontinuing the Daydream, the Delightex Daydream app was closed on Dec. 20, 2020.

What standalone VR headsets can I use with Delightex?

You can use Delightex on the ClassVR headsets that have a hardware integration of Delightex. Learn more at classvr.com

Does Delightex work on the Quest?

Delightex works on the Meta Quest 3 and previous Quest / Oculus devices. Learn more on the Tech check page.

Does Delightex work on the Pico headsets?

Yes! Delightex supports the latest PICO (Enterprise) G3, 4E and Neo 3 Pro, in addition to the PICO G2 4K legacy device.

How can I log into Delightex from my VR headset?

To log in easily, use a log-in code that you can get from your account if you’re already logged in on another device. This lets you type the 6-digit code generated instead of having to enter your username and password.

Can I move around a Project with the Meta Quest headset?

Yes! Define your play area in the Meta Quest headset. You’ll then be able to physically walk around in your Project and move your head to look around!

Can I use the Meta Quest controllers?

Yes! If you play in a stationary position, use the buttons of your headset’s controllers to move around in your Project. You can also use the controllers to easily interact with objects independently. Use the button on the back of your controller to click.

Is it possible to jump in Delightex with the Meta Quest?

It isn't possible yet to jump using the Meta Quest controllers.

Can I create Projects in VR?

It currently isn't possible to create Projects using a VR headset. You can however dive in and explore any Project in VR.

AR

How can I experience my creations in AR?

Your Projects and many more from the Delightex Gallery can be explored in AR using an AR-compatible device and the Delightex mobile app, available on Android and iOS.

What devices can be used to view in AR?

Smartphones and tablet devices with Android's AR Core technology or with Apple's AR Kit technology can be used for AR. Check all supported iOS devices. and supported Android devices.

MERGE Cube

How can I view my creations on the MERGE Cube?

To project onto the MERGE Cube, open a MERGE Cube Project in the Delightex mobile app from a smartphone or tablet, click "Play" and hold the MERGE Cube in front of your device's camera.

Where can I get a MERGE Cube?

MERGE Cubes can be ordered from the MERGE website.

What devices can be used with the MERGE Cube?

Smartphones and tablets with iOS 9+ and Android 4.4+ can be used to view content on the MERGE Cube, using the Delightex mobile app. Click here for more details.

How can I create for the MERGE Cube?

The MERGE Cube add-on for Delightex Pro lets you create content specifically for the MERGE Cube in Delightex.

How can I get the MERGE Cube add-on?

If you already have a Delightex Pro license plan, you can purchase the MERGE Cube add-on directly from your Delightex account and get it added to all the seats in your license plan. If you're buying a new Delightex Pro license plan, you'll be able to include add-ons in your order.

Uploads

Is it possible to upload external files to use within Delightex?

Yes! In the "Upload" section, you can import various external files to your Projects. You can upload your own images including 360° images and GIFs, 3D models, video and sound files. You can also use the integrated web search feature to find the right content to create your Project with.

Can I import my own 3D models into Delightex?

Yes! You can upload your own 3D models to use in Delightex. Supported 3D model formats include STL, OBJ, GLTF and FBX uploads as well as animated models in FBX / GLTF, although not all features might work. Learn more here.

What features are supported for FBX uploads?

Delightex supports FBX uploads within certain limitations: only simple textures are supported (no normal, specular, alpha with transparency) and the model and its texture should not exceed a total file size of 50 MB. Learn more here.

What should I do if my 3D model doesn't upload correctly?

We're working on improving our support of 3D models in various formats. Please tell us about your issue here. This will help us in our troubleshooting to improve the 3D models upload feature.

Is Delightex compatible with 360° images?

Yes! You can even build your creations upon existing 360° images that you upload to Delightex.

How can I take my own 360° images?

Many smartphones today have a 360° mode built in, letting you capture your own 360° photos with a mobile app. For iOS: Google Street View (camera feature) by Google, Inc. and 360 Panorama by Occipital, Inc.

Where can I get 360° images to use in my creations?

There are plenty of free 360° available with the Creative Commons license, which you can find here. Make sure to create only with free-of-use content.

Can I add videos to my Projects?

Yes! You can upload video files in MP4 format of up to 50 MB to use in your Projects. You'll find this feature in the "Upload" section.

Can I add sound to my Projects?

Yes! You can upload external sound files in MP3 and WAV to your Projects or you can make your own sound recordings directly within Delightex.
